Overview:

We are a thriving psychology clinic in Calgary seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Clinic Development Manager to support the growth, visibility, and day-to-day functioning of our practice. At McAtee Psychology, we are committed to helping individuals and their families move toward a richer, more connected, and meaningful life.

Our newly renovated office in South Calgary has been thoughtfully designed to meet the unique needs of our clients. We provide high-quality counselling, assessment, and consultation services for individuals across the lifespan. In this role, the Clinic Development Manager will play a central role in advancing marketing and outreach initiatives, strengthening referral relationships, and supporting sustainable clinic growth, while also contributing to clinic operations and team leadership as needed.

The role is primarily focused on practice development and growth, with responsibilities allocated as follows: leading marketing and outreach efforts (50%), supporting clinic operations and administrative continuity (25%), and contributing to leadership, team culture, and internal collaboration (25%). The position is primarily in-clinic and works closely with the Director, clinicians, and administrative staff to ensure the clinic operates efficiently, collaboratively, and in alignment with our values.

Qualifications and Skill Requirements

  • At least 3–5 years of experience in practice development, operation or management, preferably within a healthcare, mental health, or counselling setting.
  • At least 3–5 years of experience supporting marketing, outreach, or business development initiatives, with preference given to candidates who have worked in healthcare or other service-based environments.
  • Post-secondary education in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, Psychology, Social Work or a related field (preferred). Equivalent experience will be considered.
  • Leadership and Team Management: Proven ability to supervise and motivate staff, foster collaboration, and resolve conflicts effectively.
  • Communication Skills: Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities to effectively convey information, foster understanding, and build strong relationships with team members, clients, and external partners.
  • Strategic Thinking: Strong skills in identifying growth opportunities, analyzing caseload trends, and implementing strategies to build and sustain clinic operations.
  • Problem-Solving Abilities: A proactive approach to addressing operational challenges, improving workflows, and enhancing client experiences.
  • Technical Proficiency: Familiarity or interest in using clinic management software to manage the clinic (e.g., Jane App), Microsoft Office Suite, and Google Workspace.
  • Marketing and Outreach: Experience or familiarity with promoting services through community engagement, social media, or other marketing strategies (preferred).

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as a growth-oriented leader and primary point of coordination for team members, supporting alignment, problem-solving, and a collaborative culture that enables clinician productivity and retention.
  • Collaborate closely with the Director to design, implement, and refine strategies that build and sustain clinician caseloads, strengthen referral pipelines, and support intentional clinic growth.
  • Oversee and continuously improve operational systems related to scheduling, client intake, billing, and administrative workflows to ensure they effectively support increased demand and scalable service delivery.
  • Monitor, analyze, and report on key clinic development metrics, including inquiry volume, referral sources, conversion rates, clinician utilization, and caseload trends, using data to inform strategic decisions and recommendations.
  • Contribute to strategic planning by supporting organizational goal-setting, identifying growth opportunities, refining service offerings, targeting priority populations, and providing input on staffing, billing, hiring, and compensation decisions from a sustainability and capacity perspective.
  • Support marketing initiatives, including social media management and community outreach, to enhance the clinic’s visibility and attract new clients.
