McAtee Psychology is a collaborative private practice in SW Calgary, providing counselling and assessment services to both neurotypical and neurodivergent children, teens, and adults. We are currently seeking a Registered Psychologist, Provisional Psychologist, or Registered Social Worker to join our team and grow our clinical services.

About the Role

As a Somatic-Informed Trauma Therapist, you will provide counselling and support to clients navigating complex mental health challenges. We are seeking a clinician who specializes in somatic and body-centered practices to support clients in navigating diverse mental health challenges.

You will bring experience in supporting neurodivergent individuals, including those with ADHD, Autism, learning differences, or sensory processing challenges. This includes adapting therapeutic approaches to meet diverse communication and processing styles, addressing co-occurring concerns such as anxiety, OCD, or emotion regulation difficulties, and fostering an affirming environment that recognizes both the strengths and challenges of neurodivergence. As part of our team, you will also play an active role in collaborating with our leadership and marketing team to grow awareness of your services and build a sustainable practice.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Conducting any combination of the following based on client needs and clinical expertise: individual counselling, parent consultation and strategies
  • Working with the marketing team to promote your services and build your caseload
  • Maintaining a working knowledge of all services provided by McAtee Psychology

Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree or higher in Psychology, Social Work, or a related field.
  • Provisional or Full Registration with the College of Alberta Psychologists (CAP) 
  • Current registration with the Alberta College of Social Workers (ACSW).
  • Experience:
    • Minimum 2 years experience working with individuals who have experienced trauma
    • Minimum training and/or level 1+ certification in Somatic Experiencing, Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, Hakomi, or other body-focused approaches
    • Experience in one or more of the following will be an asset:  DBT, EMDR, Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART), or other trauma-focused approaches
